Mac Lipstick 'Hang Up' Review

I picked up this lipstick some time ago now, when the craze of 'vampy lips' came in to the picture. So why review it now? This season 'leopard print' and 'tartan print' is going to cover the shop shelves, a good way to create this edgy 1980's punk rock look is by of course, creating a vampy lip.
'Hang up' by Mac (£15) does this perfectly! When I first got this lipstick I was very nervous to wear it, as it is quite daring and well 'punk rock' like. But on the lips it is a very subtle berry purple, the more you apply, the deeper and more wine coloured the shade becomes. It looks amazing on pale skin (perfect for the winter months when the tans fade away).
Now, the lipsticking looking good on is only one thing any lipstick lover should consider. Specially one for £15! I would say this lipstick roughly lasts around 2 hours (if you're not eating or drinking) before you need to top it up, which in my opinion for a £15 designer brand I expected it to last much longer. The finish cremesheen is the reason for this lack of long wear, perhaps if it was a less creamy formula it would have been better.
However, a lipstick isn't going to last forever on the lips and it is a beautiful shade and does apply nicely on the lips!
I personally like to wear this lip with a graphic eye, whether that be a winged eyeliner or a less bold smokey eye.
I want to try out more mac lipsticks, so leave a comment on any you think are good or any you would like to see a review on!
