Goodbye 2015, oh why hello 2016!

I have written this exact post once a year for the past four years and for the first time, I’m lost for words.

On this exact date I sum up my year, I look back at everything. My mistakes, the joy I felt and anything that made the year good or bad. I’m sure you’re aware I have been absent from my blog, to put it bluntly it has been an awful year and I haven’t felt myself in a very long time.

However, I see no point in self-loathing, feeling sorry for myself and not getting on with life.
I learnt that in 2015, in fact I learnt a lot this year. I learnt to deal with things and carry on with life, I learnt to drag my arse out of bed even on the gloomiest day, I learnt to accept that life isn’t fair and the biggest lesson of all, I learnt a lot about myself.

I’m not a complete Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh however, I started my dream career in 2015 and have loved every second of it.I shall be sharing my experience of journalism with you all very soon!

This year I’m not making any New Year Resolutions, other than to simply enjoy 2016 as much as I possibly can.

2015 may have been awful and I may have spent the majority of it sad, but guess what, I’m ending 2015 with a smile slapped across my face, my lips coated in an expensive red lipstick and full of excitement for a new chapter in my life to begin.

I end this post with the mindset that this is the last time I shall talk about 2015 on this blog, I have been planning content for months and am getting my website redesigned for the New Year. I am making categories’ for beauty, lifestyle, food, fashion, interior and even sex and relationships (I know, saucy ay).

I have even started planning for Halloween and Blogmas 2016, too much? I know, I'm sad.

Happy New Year to all my lovely readers, I can’t wait to show you all my new content and everything to come in 2016!

My 'Toys R Us' Christmas tree! - BLOGMAS

This year I have gone for a ‘Toys R Us’ theme for my Christmas tree, who says toys are just for under the tree?
I very much have a quirky taste in everything, the more unique and different the better. I actually want to purchase a larger white tree and place a variety of Disney character tree ornaments on it, how cool would that be?
The ornaments on this tree are from John Lewis and Paperchase, I don’t mind spending the extra buck, as I know they will last me quite a few Christmas’.
I’ll leave you to browse through the photos and let them do the talking and hopefully they will give you some inspiration.

I’d love to see your Christmas tree’s so feel free to tag me in them on Twitter (@Sophie_Blackman) and on Instagram (@vavaviolett)
Let me know in the comments what you think of my ‘Toys R Us’ tree and how you have decorated yours!

Christmas misfits, Giveaway and Olaf! - BLOGMAS

I’m no Scrooge when it comes to Christmas, in fact as typical as it sounds I turn into an excited little Olaf.
Spending time with family, Christmas scented candles, food, lots and lots of food, good excuse to get drunk and of course, I can’t pretend I don’t care… presents aka free stuff.
I will be doing Blogmas for the 3rd year in a row, even with a full time job I refuse to miss out on my favourite time of the year (even though I am posting this on day 2 of Blogmas, nice going Soph).
I spent the 1st putting up my tree, listening to Michael Buble’s Christmas album and of course, most importantly, giving my dogs day 1 of their advent calendars’.
I have a couple of days off in December, which I am already planning to spend them working on my blog as I have missed it so much!
I will also be doing a Christmas giveaway, I'm thinking of giving away one of the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, what would you think of that?
So I suppose this is just a little post to announce that I am doing Blogmas for the 3rd year in a row and I will be utterly knackered and brain dead by the end of December.

Leave me a comment suggesting any Christmas themed blog posts you would like to see!
