6 of the most ridiculously buck-wild sex laws across the world

Across the world, throughout history and even to this very day there have been some wild and peculiar laws put in place when it comes to sex and masturbating.

Thankfully in 2021 in the UK the subject of sex is slowly becoming a subject that people are a lot less embarrassed to speak about but in some countries, this is still not the case.

Some of the laws are so odd they are admittedly funny (such as it being illegal to shag with the lights on) but some are barbaric and luckily left behind in history.

Here are six sex laws that could land you in a spot of danger. From masturbating to getting a radish shoved up your arse...

In Singapore whatever you do, don’t walk past your window fresh out of the shower as it could land you time in jail!

You are not allowed to be naked anywhere within public view at all. Not even in your own home if you can be seen through a window.

This counts as being "exposed" and comes under Section 27A of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act, Chapter 184.

It states a person cannot be naked in a private place while being exposed to public view.

This law came into effect on Feb 27, 1996.

Most people prefer others to do things for them but it is also nice to, you know, have the option to masturbate with your own body.

In Indonesia masturbation is illegal and not only is it deemed a serious criminal offence but if caught it can land you up to 32 months in prison!

Some souls on the Internet say masturbation can end in 'decapitation' however the Indonesian embassy states that according to Article 281 of national law, the maximum sentence is 32 months' imprisonment.

In Ancient Greece, they used to have a very barbaric and bizarre way to torture and punish men who committed adultery.

If a man was caught cheating not only would they shave off all of his pubes off but it was the law to shove a radish up his arse for good measure too.

The act of the abuse using a radish was called rhaphanidosis and is mentioned by Aristophanes as a punishment for adultery in Classical Athens in the fifth and fourth century BC.

In the good old state of Texas USA it is illegal to own more than six dildos at once... so much for one for each day of the week!

The sex toy law was first passed in 1973 and appears to be aimed at adult performers, as it states "play, motion picture, dance, or other exhibition performed before an audience".

Old fashion much the law also describes sex toys as "obscene devices".

For the insecure among us Budapest, Hungary, is where you want your sexual encounters to happen as it is illegal to have any form of intercourse with the lights on.

Even if you are at home with your wife or husband, the deed must be done in the darkness.

We can't even begin to imagine the number of injuries that have gone down once the lights go off.

Way back in history, The T'ang Dynasty Empress Wu Hu passed a special law concerning oral sex.

She felt that a woman pleasuring a man represented the supremacy of the male over the female.

Therefore, she insisted all visiting male dignitaries show their respect by pleasuring her orally when meeting.

The empress would throw open her robe and her guest would kneel before her and kiss her genitals.

What an absolute boss!

Let us know in the comments if you would break any of these laws. We certainly would!

  1. Got another one for you - I am a member of a couple of groups for fans of authors of kinky romance novels on Facebook. A member who lives in Alabama has to sign a disclaimer if she buys a sex toy stating that it is only for educational, scientific or medical purposes. A couple of other members confirmed that - only in America!
